In order to lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks, you need to make a commitment to yourself that you will make a concentrated effort in order to succeed. Not that it's the hardest thing in the world, but it is something which requires you to change your life style and use your willpower.

When it comes to losing 10 pounds in 3 weeks, there are 2 distinct weight loss strategies which can work: the physical strategy which requires a lot of exercise or the nutritional one which requires following a specific diet. Of course, you need to watch what you eat even if you decide to use this time frame in order to get fitter as well as slimmer and choose the physical strategy, but the emphasis is on physical activity and not on nutrition.

The physical strategy

There are a number of benefits to trying to lose 10 lbs in 3 weeks: you will look leaner and harder, be healthier, and feel better. But it does require a little more work than the nutritional strategy. I'm talking about 4--5 workouts each week in which you'll do at least 3 sessions of intense cardiovascular activity and 2 sessions of strength workouts each week. It may seem hard, but the benefits are worth it.

The nutritional strategy

If you don't have the time or desire to do a lot of exercise, I recommend using the calorie shifting diet. This weight loss method is based on manipulating your metabolism to believe that you're not dieting. This will cause it to remain running high and burning calories at a fast rate. This metabolic manipulation is accomplished by constantly changing the type of calories that you eat. The original Calorie Shifting diet, Fat Loss 4 Idiots, says that it can get you to lose 9 pounds in 11 days. But even if you do a little slower (I think the average weight loss on this diet is 6-8 pounds in 11 days) you will still be able to lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks.


Always remember that to lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks is possible but requires discipline and commitment. The real struggle will come later when you try to keep from gaining the weight back. Using one of these 2 weight loss strategies will help you to maintain your weight loss into the future.
