Who Is This God We Worship?

Ken Hughes
God takes many forms, is called by many names speaks many languages and adheres to many cultures. With these differences come many similarities. Gods perceived to be good by all who worship him. When disaster strike it is presumed to be Gods will, a will we are told not to question. On the other hand, someone must be held accountable for man made disasters. Why is this, where is the difference? I say it’s faith that makes the difference. Must we take the presents of God on faith alone or is there a way to prove Gods existence.

I believe excluding the scriptures that we can prove God exists. For those of us who profess no particular religious beliefs I submit nature is Gods own proof he’s a higher power than man. Man pollutes water and air can he create more, no. Man can destroy a forest without Gods help can he create a new ones on his own. Before there was man there were plants insects animals fish birds, and who knows what living on this planet if we are to accept scientific data as proof. If you accept the New Testament then my argument is void.

For a moment, let’s assume fish were given legs and they walked out of the sea. Who or what determined the direction each would take if not for God. Which would become birds, animals, and man? To assume “Let nature take it’s course” is to accept nature as God.

Mans problem is trying to see God as an image rather than a the ultimate power over all that is and all that will be. A non-identity is a more practical vision of God.

If God created all that exists, then surly he created Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and all the other religions for a reason. I would be remiss not to mention Atheists, Scientists, and Liberals as well. We may not love them but Gods accepts them for us. Depending on your beliefs, God created all that is. I have no doubt about this. I have questions as to how and when he made all this work for us. I also question the disrespect his work is being given. Too many are beginning to take credit for Gods work, everything man touches Gods touched before them. Man has the ability to assemble things, and has no ability to crate from scratch. Every element man uses for his inventions and copyrights are created from things Gods put there for him to work with. Invention is the most arrogant word in the English language. I speak from personal experience. I have several in my own name. God put the idea in my mind I only followed through with them.

A man who says there’s no God is a fool. God is everywhere around us all of the time. God is in the critters, the plants, and the weather. God makes all things reliant on the next in order to survive. God’s more than religion, God is life. God doesn’t belong to any one sect or belief God belongs to all of us. Because I believe Jesus, Moses, Mohamed and many since were Gods messengers and not God on earth doesn’t mean God is going to forsake me. I’m a devoted believer in the power of God to guide me on the right path in life without the assistance of other who may not share my personal proximity to God and what I believe he stands for doesn’t phase me in the least. I respect what others believe and their right to their religious practices as God has instructed me to do.

What more can man do but believe in God, even Atheists who believe in nothing eventually turn to God for salvation in their final days.
