The Annapolis parley ended after heads of delegates said what they had said before the gathering. Shortly after the gathering, Mrs. Rice appointed ex-General James Jones as an assistant for the Middle East region security. She did not tell about the precise mission of the ex-General apart from witnessing the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations.
The most important threat to the region is the presence of 200-400 Israeli nuclear warheads. Olmart asked the Arab delegates to normalize relations with Israel. Normalization is one of the end game steps to declare permanent peace in the region. What should be first security for all or exchange of diplomats and embassies? Normalization comes after building security, recognition of states, exchange of diplomats and starting cooperation.

Another direct threat to the regional and international security is an accidental nuclear explosion of an Israeli nuclear devise or leak from its nuclear reactors. Israel is not a signatory of Non-Proliferation Treaty NPT that allows the international watchdog to inspect its nuclear institution for safety measures. There are reports tell about increased incidence of cancer cases among residences near Israeli nuclear facilities due to higher radiation levels than the allowed international levels.
