Being There For The Holidays, There's Nothing Like It

Judy Ramsook
Some people might be lingering in those shopping store aisles while in search of that perfect gift for the finicky friend or relative in his or her life, and as the shopper stands there wondering what to buy he or she might become frustrated.

It could be all because that fussy friend or family member already has many things that he or she ever wanted, and also a high enough income to go out and purchase whatever else he or she is lacking, but there is one gift that is irreplaceable.

That is the physical presence of a loved one. People can bring all the expensive gifts their hard earned money can buy, but there is nothing as fulfilling and cherished as the presence of some one.

Especially around this time of the year when emotions are running high and persons in our midst reminisce about a year that is at the end or ones that have gone before us.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to purchase that special present for that some one, but the recepient of such a gift will also appreciate your presence as well.

No matter how expensive that material possession is, it cannot comfort you, give you a warm embrace or lend an ear when you need it the most and will provide you with memories no inanimate object can. That one thing known as presence.

It is one thing no material possession in this world could ever replace; hunt high and low for that gift, but be there if you can too. Your loved ones will appreciate it and you will be glad too when you see how happy they are to have you there, in the flesh.

There are many people who are not fortunate enough to have their loved ones with them this holiday season, so if you have yours around you, be happy and grateful that you do. That is one thing that is truly priceless. Enjoy yourself and take care of each other.
