Littlel Girls Love To Torture Barbie Dolls

Robert Paul Reyes
Little boys enjoy employing action figures to wreak havoc around the household, all the while providing an earache-inducing soundtrack of yells and screams.

But there is nothing more heartwarming and tranquil than watching your daughter, granddaughter or niece play with a Barbie.

Seeing a little girl gently brush Barbie's hair is a good antidote for all the violence and wretchedness in the world.

But hold on to your hats, a new research by British academics reveals that the ubiquitous plastic doll is often mutilated at the hands of young girls.

My goodness, what's next a study that reveals that Santa Claus is a kleptomaniac who steals more things than he leaves behind?

According to the Associated Press Agnes Nairn, one of the University of Bath researchers, said "The girls we spoke to see Barbie torture as a legitimate play activity, and see the torture as a 'cool' activity. The types of mutilation are varied and creative, and range from removing the hair to decapitation, burning, breaking and even microwaving."

The British eggheads reason that Barbie torture symbolizes a girl leaving her childhood behind, but I see a more nefarious explanation. Little girls are practicing for when they will grow up to be big girls who bend, fold and mutilate their boyfriends and husbands.

If your wee daughter is still gently stroking Barbie's hair, enjoy this beautiful scene while it lasts, because your sweet child will soon grow up to be a monster who loves inflicting pain and torture.
