'Tis The Season

Michael Levy
Here comes Santa
the white bearded wizard,
Delivering packages
even in a blizzard.

Advertising media
makes our wishes come true,
A one day wonderland
with a fairy story right on cue.

Corporate images,
Snow fakes,
No rain dear,
A red nosed magician

that makes cash disappear.

A fantasy charade
that seems quite sincere,
Presents from magical toy land,
Listen how corporate directors cheer.

White Christmas faces,
Stockings filled with bills,
Holding lots of plastic,
Jingle bells ring the tills.

Merry shoppers on a spree,
Digging deep with glee,
Brainwashed to be funny,
T's the season of goodbye-money.

Ho, ho, ho what fun
its all a terrific game,
Pockets now empty
the bank account's gone quite lame.

Debts piled high,
the bank manager's going insane,
So I'm jetting off to the Bahamas
and Santa can take the blame.
