Why Does Mr. Bush Act As He Does?

Alex Zakson
I?ve been trying very hard to understand George W. Bush, and the reasons for his actions. He has dismissed the enormous deficits stating that tax cuts are good for the economy; he has shrugged off the absence of WMD in Iraq asserting that Sadam was a danger to the US and it was good to get rid of him; he has rejected calls for safeguarding civil liberties claiming that the violations keep our homeland safe from terrorists; he has threatened to veto legislation requiring humane treatment of prisoners asserting that our safety supercedes any such consideration; he has dismissed the threat of global warming stating that it would hurt US businesses; he has restricted stem cell research feeling that it violated his religion?s prohibition against killing. There are other instances, too numerous to mention.

Careful and thorough examination leads any reasonable person to conclude that Mr. Bush very strongly believes that the end justifies the means. While many seemingly reasonable people may agree with this philosophy, I do not.

After all every single terrorist adheres to this philosophy.
