Colin Cunningham: Between Sunset and Sunrise

Saqqara Aleister
At 12:30 am in a hotel room somewhere in the world Colin Cunningham {Major Davis on Stargate SG-1} answers questions, can make a room laugh and doesn't take life as an actor totally recognizable by those fans of Stargate SG-1 so seriously.

Colin started acting in Los Angeles, California but tired of the whole "actors as gods" atmosphere and without getting enough work packed up and moved to Vacouver, BC where he has carved quite a good sized niche for himself being a working actor, producer, director and musician. He got the acting bug back when a friend Mark Rickerby in los angeles convinced him to try out for a college play saying, "God knows where I'd be without him".

Even in e-mail you get the feeling Colin is a work-a-holic, with tons of upcoming and in the works projects like, Producing/directing a music video for singer/songwriter Gord Bamford which will air on CMT {Country Music Television}. Producing his next feature film, "The Method", which will begin shooting spring/summer of 2005. He is slated to return in "Da Vinci's Inquest" and in November is heading off to Budapest to film the movie "The Collector". He will also be attending SG-1 conventions in France and Germany as well as just last week went out on several auditions for a few more roles, and we all hope to see more of Major Davis on SG-1, let's just hope he can fit it in.

Colin is funny, witty and knows what he likes/wants. He is single and attracted to independant, confident women who use their minds to get ahead instead of thier........assets. His favorite food is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches......really, pad thai, he sleeps with his dog, is still nursing a broken heart from his last girlfriend and says filming with jokesters Richard Dean Anderson and Christopher Judge is always a blast. He plays all sorts of instruments, with the sax is inspired by David Sanborn, and says he is not a "star" "Stars have heart shaped swimming pools".

If the word "celebrity" ever applies to Colin Cunningham his only hope is that he doesn't lose his anonymity, he can't stand to be recognized saying, "The only thing I could ever wish for in my career is that people may wonder, do I know that guy from somewhere". Otherwise being invisable is fine by him. Although he does know who he'd mention if he was to ever win the most coveted of acting honors, an Oscar. Madison Graie, his best friend, confidant, business partner, coach and peer and Anne, a "dear, dear friend and beautiful woman" he has been searching for, for years.

When asked what his favorite job besides acting would be, one could picture him sitting on the bed in his hotel room laughing as he says, "CIA agent, can't really get into it, but the dental is good".
