Will The Crime Wave In Most Third World Countries Ever Cease?

Judy Ramsook
No one likes to feel unsafe in his or her own country. And in most Third World countries where continuous waves of violence are taking place everyday in such forms as murders, kidnappings, theft, home invasions and such, most citizens who live in such places are living in fear.

Fear of even thinking of taking a walk on the street where he or she happens to live, or fear of staying out late at night in case the unsuspecting criminal minded individual or groups of individuals find a way to disrupt his her peace of mind and sense of security.

I always thought that if one is in a leadership position such as the leader of a country in which some or all of the above mentioned activities are taking place, that leader would try to gather whatever resources are available in an effort to capture some or most of those criminals who are instilling fear in the country’s citizens.

For if one does not feel safe in his or her own country, where else is he going to feel safe and what happens if such continuous acts of violent crimes keep on taking place?

Sooner or later, the citizens who have the financial means to leave whatever country he called home begin to take leave of such places to start life in another and safer place.

And when such things begin to happen something else is also taking place as well. The Third World country in which its citizens feel unsafe is being deprived of some of it’s most intelligent and productive citizens.

Citizens who over time, also become quite unhappy and frustrated with the situation. And how can innocent, law abiding citizens feel happy and secure in their own country under such turmoil?

And most of those Third World countries are not geographically huge. If proper measures are taken, most, if not all of those criminals can be caught or rounded up. Especially if leaders of those countries want to regain the confidence of its people once more.

For come election day, it’s those same people who will go to the polls in an attempt to make a difference with their votes. A difference for possibly a safer and brighter tomorrow in their own country. A country such citizens may not have or want to leave if their sense of security is not being betrayed everytime they tune in to the evening news or read the daily newspaper.
