Bill Maher’s Michael Richards Moment re 9/11

June Caldwell
Bill Maher had an outburst on national TV similar to Michael Richards’ last year. Ironically, in this case the ‘Politically Incorrect’ guru, Maher was yelling and swearing at a few audience members who were too left-wing and – that’s right- too politically incorrect for his taste. The subject: questioning the convenience and possible connections with the 9/11 attack by our current administration. Sadly, a request for questioning an already suspect administration is too politically incorrect for such a freedom-loving society as, well, a Democracy.

Maher’s’ previous itch slap by the right-wing media apparently work. A few years back Maher outdid himself when he had the audacity to say publicly that our current administration was cowardly bombing the mid-East safely from 50,000 feet in the air as opposed to the terrorists that put their life on the line by suicide bombing. Bush of course, since then, has made good on that one by sending thousands of US troops to be killed. Nonetheless, Maher was crucified, taken off the air, and made out by a high-profile media attack to be an enemy of Democracy.

Last week, because someone in his audience brought up the 9/11 questions, Maher went into a yelling swearing rampage as if he had been hypnotized into going into convulsions whenever someone mentions something that truly is controversial. With the ever-snickering Chris Matthews sitting by, of the famed NoBall with Chris Matthews show, Bill showed just how politically correct he could be. America is now free to place bets whether Mahers still has some of his old fearlessness - that he critcizes others for lacking - and invites the audience members he had physically thrown out and roughed up to come on-air and take them on face to face.
