Which Video Game System Should One Buy?

Judy Ramsook
If solving puzzles, rescuing characters in distress, running and jumping with a few thumb motions when playing that video game is seen as great way to pass a couple hours, that is fine.

And on a recent trip to a video game store, it came to my attention that a customer before me was in a quandary as to what type of system he should purchase.

And with so many systems from which to choose, one can spend quite a while in the store when trying to decide which system will be best for him.

But the most important thing one should consider upon embarking on such a mission, is to ask that one question which can bring a quick solution to his little dilemna. That question? Which sort of games does he prefer to play.

Is it the familiar Mario and Luigi type also known as the action/adventure sort? Nintendo has a variety of those as well as the Donkey Kong games. With systems such as the portable gameboy advance/SP, Nintendo DS, to the television bound, Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube there are those kinds of games which are fun to play and interesting.

And if a video game player wants to reminisce with some earlier games, a newer version of the Super Nintendo is also available. These types of games are also more family friendly.

And if a video game player is over eighteen and wants to play something more in the way of action, than the fun loving Mario and Luigi type, there are games for the Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation or PS2, PSP, Xbox, and the Xbox 360 that come with a Teen or Mature rating. Some of which range from the battle type where the main character or hero of the game is a soldier engaged in combat to the all too familiar Grand Theft Auto variety.

If a player is the adventurous type and enjoys being wrapped up for hours with a good RPG, there are games for that genre as well. Games that are made for each of the above mentioned systems.

It just depends on what one prefers. For example, if a player is used to or likes the Final Fantasy type of game, then the PS2, gameboy advance or Gamecube might be a good choice. Depending of course on which game or games in the series one wants to play.

If one prefers the Legend Of Zelda type of action, there are a few games in that line available for the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, gameboy advance/ SP and even earlier Zelda games for the gameboy can be played on the gameboy advance as well. Such titles as Links’s Awakening and Oracle Of Ages, just to name a couple.

But ultimately, when it comes to purchasing the video game system that one wants, it all depends on what type of game the player enjoys playing. So it’s up to you, choose wisely, play well and have fun.
