How to Put Your Favorite DVD’s into Your PSP
While there are laws on making illegal copies of a movie, I don’t think there is any harm in creating backup copies of a film you already own (The same general rule is followed by thousands in PSP game emulators). Searching around the net, I found one popular blogger - HERE who possesses the same trail of thought and who found a great way to transfer his favorite movies onto his PSP. Of course, he has already purchased the original movies in DVD form and in no way supports illegal downloading.
According to AskDaveTaylor.com, the best software program you can get for this type of thing is the $24 AnyDVD by Slysoft at Slysoft.com. This software program amazingly erases all traces of encryption and protection from your DVD player to your PC. After running the program, it will reboot itself(It may look like a spyware but it really is not). Then, you will need another program to be able to read the file on the disk and convert it into something your PSP can accept. While there are programs like Roxio, AskDaveTaylor.com once again recommends Slysoft and their CloneDVD Mobile program which costs around $50. It isn’t such a bad idea. Besides, imagine the compatibility of using two programs created by the same company.
The first thing you have to do is get the AnyDVD program running. Then, launch the CloneDVD Mobile program and select the format you want your DVD to appear. The PSP has two options available. Either you choose (AVC/H264) or MP4. AVC/H264 takes a longer time to download but produces smaller files. In AskDaveTaylor’s case, his conversion of “The Island” took him more or less three hours. Next, you have to choose your DVD itself which should be on your DVD drive. CloneDVD Mobile will instantly process it. Basically, you will only need to press the Next button as the CloneDVD Mobile program does most of the work for you. However, when you get to the part of the audio tracks; it is important to remember that not all movies have a default track of English. It is advisable to double check just in case. Then, just follow the directions and click the Next buttons.
The last thing you have to do is specify the output device. If, for some reason, that doesn’t work, you can simply hook your PSP to your PC before the whole process and simply have the program write to it directly.
