Nepal's Faith Peace or War ?
The present interim government of Nepal disclosed failure to launch the democratic process grounded at the constituent assembly and good governance. A political crisis has been arisen when the Maoists quit the interim government and primary responsibility. At a sudden, Maoists’ voice have been changed. Consequently, the government and seven alliance party have been nervous. Maoists directly demand for declaration of republic and full proportional electoral system that blocks the deferral of the constituent assembly election of Nepal.
Now is the time to analyse why the Maoists changed the tune of politics breaking the previous assignment of peace agreement. The government has to find out the cause and effect and also ought to seek immediate solution for maintaining peace and harmony in the country. Nepal – the peaceful land – harmonized by Lord Buddha since a long ago must not be insulted in the international peace.
The ended cold war has undesirably come back which is not a good signal for restoration of peace and political stability in the country. As the course or dose of antibiotics could not have perfectly served for controlling the chronic disease of national politics, the same condition is observed on the peace agreement between the government of Nepal and Maoists. The government of Nepal seems not capable to fully convince the Maoists for restoration of peace and political stability. Actually, vote for consistent assembly may be a test for peace and political stability in the country.
The poll for constituent assembly must be done on the previously timeline declared. The conflict and difference in opinion ought to solve within a week by face to face discussion and mutual understanding. . The polling date must not be postponed as child’s play. The vacuum of poll in the country leads perfectly undemocratic movement falling down the precedent of democracy.
We cannot apologize to those political leaders who are always in habit of procrastination. Procrastination or postponement hampers to all. We better understand ‘procrastination is a thief of time.’ Nepal is heating up like a pop-corn in an oven. The government failed to be accountable in generating job opportunity and income in the country. We pray for serenity rather than doggedly seeking a new solution to what ails us is that left to our own devices. Political suffering is as Guinea worm-the largest human parasite has caused incalculable pain, heavy economic loss and suffering in millions of Nepalese people.
Hence, Nepal must be looking forward to polling consistent assembly at the fixed date already scheduled. The fresh people’s mandate and opinion must be considered and reconsidered through the fair poll at which a real peace is hidden. Otherwise, Nepal remains as conflicting state or battlefield for insurgency which holds war not peace.
