Focus On The Family Boycotts Wells Fargo For Supporting Gay Rights

Focus on the Family, the conservative group headed by James Dobson, announced that it would be ending its banking relationship with Well Fargo, because of its support of groups that advance the "radical homosexual agenda."

This is apparently a reference to a gift made by Wells Fargo to GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).

I didn't realize that its a radical for a human rights group to seek an end to discrimination against homosexuals in the corporate and public arenas.

Focus on the Family needs to focus on the needs of the many disadvantaged families in this country and stop trying to intimidate corporations into not adopting policies that advocate human rights for all.

If Focus on the Family announced that it was ending its banking relationship with Wells Fargo, because of its support of the NAACP, everyone would be up in arms.

Unfortunately, some corporations and organizations feel they can ostracize and discriminate against gays with impunity.

Everyone who believes in human rights, including self-respecting evangelicals, should criticize Focus on the Family for their hateful and homophobic action against Wells Fargo.
