Are Some Of Us Just Wired For Classical Music?
Say, for example one has become accustomed to listening to what he or she prefers and can more easily relate to like any of the above mentioned music types.
But say, his or her friend or sibling even, prefers classical and no matter where one goes with such friend or sibling, the station in the car radio is always fixed on that classical one.
So much so that that friend or relative might as well rip out the tuner changing button or knob for he will not change the station, ever. So say out of curiosity one day, the individual who prefers pop or anything else except classical music decides to give that classical music a sample to see if he too can acquire a liking for it.
And he switches the radio station to that classical one and say he gets distracted reading or doing something else while the music plays in the background. But after a few moments of trying to stay focused on the classical music the same way he does with the pop music station, but soon realises that it is time to switch the station to what he is accustomed to.
And after making the switch he says to himself that he tried or at least gave it a chance, for classical music is just one type of music he has not taken a liking to long enough to keep the cd on until it has played in its entirety or the radio station focused on that station long enough. So what is it, why can’t some people gain an appreciation for classical music, the same way he might like what he likes?
We are all different, no matter how similar we may seem on the surface. Although we all come into the world by the same biological means, as we grow, we become aware of the things we like and prefer not to take a liking to.
And while some persons in our midst have grown used to liking a certain type of music, like classical, so have the rest of us. It’s what sets us apart and makes each of us unique in our own way.
