Jr. Journalists Invited To To Share Their Adventures In USA Travel Magazine

Melody Schubert
When exploring America’s treasures, the most unforgettable trips are those we share with the ones we love. In 2005 Melody Schubert and her husband, Leroy, established USA Travel Magazine (http://www.usatravelmagazine.com) with a simple goal in mind; inspire travelers to “Explore America’s Backyard, where the road is measured by memorable moments shared with family and friends.”

Who better to tell the tales of these adventures than the youth of America like Jr. Journalists, Lilly and Penelope Sandpiper, who shared their recent trip to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida? (http://www.usatravelmagazine.com/a/9/9_florida_0c.html)

This is a family magazine, and it is exciting to have young Journalists share their adventures with us,” said Editorial Manager, Melody Schubert. “When I was a child my backyard was a world of magic and discovery. My friends and I built a castle, conquered invaders (ants), and dug for precious jewels (marbles). It was not until I was older and started traveling that I realized America is an extension of my backyard where there are many natural and historic treasures I have yet to discover.”

USA Travel Magazine hopes America’s youth not only enjoy writing about the places they’ve visited, but also learn more about the country they call home. “We were thrilled when our three sons began contributing photography and articles on their travels. And, we hope that our Jr. Journalists will find sharing their adventures an enjoyable and rewarding experience as well.”

USA Travel Magazine welcomes stories from Jr. Journalists about their recent vacations or natural and historic treasures they enjoy. “We love learning about the history of the towns we visit, and we encourage Jr. Journalist to explore more about what hidden treasures might be hiding in their own backyards.” We look forward to not only reading the works of Jr. Journalists, but also working closely with Teachers, Librarians, and Educational organizations to inspire students to learn more about America.

Submission Guidelines: Students (K-12) should get their parents permission to go online and submit their travel stories. Students are also encouraged to create their own Pen Names to protect their privacy. Articles on their travel interests in America can be a few sentences long (younger students) or several paragraphs (older students). Submissions will be included in USA Travel Magazine’s full-featured online magazine that focuses on intriguing and often overlooked destinations, which express the heart of the United States. Articles, and Photos in JPEG format, if available, may be submitted to: usatmjrjournalist@gmail.com.
