A Better World Through Education

Judy Ramsook
Education, it’s how people learn about the world around them, and whether that education comes from word of mouth, books, or the internet, it has and will always be an important part of the human culture.

For without it, one would not know about certain things such as the different types of diseases mankind is exposed to and what measures can be taken to avoid coming into contact with such diseases.

But through various types of research and knowledge that most people now have, they can be aware of certain things by being better informed by the means of education.

But in some Third World countries of the world, where it is sometimes difficult to obtain information that some persons in developed nations take for granted, is it a lack of that knowledge or education that can set some of those individuals from those Third World nations on an unhealthy path of life?

Say, for example, some one who lives in a Third World nation with little or no means of obtaining a proper education does not know that a simple thing such as washing his or her hands after cleaning or using the bath room can prevent him or her from contacting certain viruses that can lead to things such as the flu and other bacterial infections.

Or say he or she wants to learn a foreign language in the hope of widening his or her social and linguist skills. If there is no way for him or her to learn such a thing, then that would delay him or her and maybe many others just like him from interacting with others who speak that language he or she wants to learn. Thus delaying him from becoming better acquainted with a person from that country whose language he wanted so much to learn.

The more complex the world around us becomes, the more education we need, not so we can be better informed about the things and people around us, but also for us to become more acquainted with our fellow human beings.

And the more informed we are, the better chance we have of stamping out the dark road of ignorance. And a consistent dose of education is all we need in order to accomplish that.

So when next one is asked about a subject he or she knows nothing about, he or she should not be shy about looking it up be on the internet or in a book.

For if being informed through education has brought us this far, it can take mankind further, and the more open minded and educated one is, the better he or she is able to get along with his or her fellow human being.
