Established over a century ago as a chocolate fabric, it becomes now one of the most attractive and popular San Francisco destinations which is also a historic landmark.

Use distinctive San Francisco cable cars (Powell-Hyde line) to get to Ghirardelli Square that is on 900 North Point Street between beach and Larkin Streets.

Former chocolate fabric, it is still 'sweet' for very many visitors.For what should you get to it? For everything! Visiting art galleries, shopping, dining near Fisherman's Wharf, watching on and participating in family events, all those things are available here. In addition, there are amazing views of the Bay.

Now turn around and you will see the Woolen Mill Building. On the 4th floor you can find Chinese restaurant called Mandarin. Since 1968, it serves Northern Chinese cuisine in San Francisco. Fresh food and strict following of Chinese recipes make this restaurant a good choice to taste Chinese cuisine. Prices vary, but generally, it is not too pricey restaurant, for example, Mandarin Chicken Salad costs US $11.50, Spinach Seafood Soup costs US $7.95, but house specialty Ying-Yang Lobster is offered for US $48. The restaurant's planning provides a good atmosphere for romantic dining. Elegant inner design with Asian art objects, high-level service, and gorgeous views of San Francisco Bay are great additions to this place that is often said to be one of the best San Francisco restaurants.


If you like seafood, you should visit McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant which is in Wurster Building, right next to the entrance from Beach Street. Fresh dishes with lobsters, oysters, crabs, swordfish, tuna are offered by classic seafood restaurant. And you will not be knocked down by pricey menu items. Another reason to book a table for lunch or dinner here is that there are picturesque views of San Francisco Bay, Aquatic Park, Alcatraz, Angel Island, and Marin through the restaurant's expansive windows.

To experience another type of classics, you can go to Lori's Diner restaurant that is located on the Fountain Plaza. The restaurant's ambience will get you back to the 50's. Neon lights, pinball machines, and Elvis Presley's music will make the retro mood.

Burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, french fries, and cream sodas are in the not pricey menu. Also you can order a grilled chicken with potatoes, pasta with beef and Mozzarella cheese, and Caesar or vegetarian salad here. An average price for a burger is US $7, for a dinner it is US $12.
