LA Weekly Detour Fest Makes LA One Big Bloc Party
LA DETOUR FESTIVAL October 6 , 2007, all day and night, Main Street and First Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
Think the summer of blazing rock festivals is over? Think you have to drive out to the middle of a desert to have a cornucopia of bands explode in a party of sound? Think again! Just a detour away from the business district in downtown LA is the second annual LA Weekly Detour Music Festival on October 6!
And actually in downtown...it's easy being green! The easiest place to get to by bus or rail is right downtown. Who needs a car? The band lineup is top tier including (aptly named for the event) Bloc Party, Justice, Shout Out Louds, Noisettes, and LA’s own Kinky relocated from Monterrey, Mexico. If you have never heard Kinky live, you just have not partied. Period.
LA Weekly and Goldenvoice have again collaborated to produce the daylong, all-ages live music festival.
Confirmed performers for the multi-stage event include Bloc Party, Justice, Satellite Party, Kinky, Comedians of Comedy, Turbonegro, Teddybears, Moving Units, The Raveonettes, Shout Out Louds, Autolux, Celebrity Skin, The Aliens, The Aggrolites, Busy P, DJ Mehdi, Sebastian, Kavinsky, So Me, Noisettes, Cool Kids, The Deadly Syndrome, Scissors for Lefty, Johnossi, Augie March, Nico Vega, Franki Chan, Travis Keller and Bruce Perdew, among others.
The LA WEEKLY DETOUR MUSIC FESTIVAL brings a diverse assortment of musical talent to the heart of Los Angeles at Main & 1st Streets. More than 15,000 music fans gathered for last year's inaugural event.
