Chad Johnson's Monday Night Football Celebration a Let Down?
Chad Johnson had been building up this touchdown dance for weeks prior to Monday night's game. He made statements such as "This will probably be one of the greatest celebrations of all time" and "Oh, I'm going to give you a show. I don't know if y'all allowed to have popcorn wherever y'all sitting at, but you need to get some." After all this hype, Chad got into the end zone early in the game on Monday night.
After the touchdown grab, he told everyone to "hold on a minute". He went over to the sideline, fumbled threw a bag for a minute or so, and then put on a jacket that said Future HOF (Hall of Fame) 20xx.
Now, I am a big fan of Chad Johnson's touchdown dances and funny antics, but I didn't think this celebration lived up to the hype. He fumbled around to get the jacket on for a minute or so, and after that the jacket itself wasn't that impressive or even that funny. The Monday Night Football announcers agreed that this celebration wasn't that impressive. Maybe there was just too much build up, or maybe we are just spoiled by some of the past celebration dances from Johnson. Either way, fans seemed to be unimpressed with this celebration.
The good news for Bengals fans and NFL fans is that Chad guaranteed to tear up the NFL this season. Time will tell if he can improve on his celebration performance.
