The Man ....The Myth.... and Soon To Be Legend- Obama

Camilla Hancock
Obama is the democratic presidential candidate with the most charisma and personal magnetism of all the candidates mentioned in the media. He is up against Clinton’s formidable political machine but Obama is fighting a good fight. I am a democrat and would not have it any other way. Either way it goes I am voting democrat during the presidential elections but I want to plead Obama’s case for President.

People say Obama does not have enough experience. This is the first time in history of America where I can remember people having the audacity to imply anyone is unqualified. Where is the official job description and how well have the former presidents performed based on their so called experience. All over America hiring managers are hiring employees for jobs based on who they know and based on some fantastic unrealistic mythological description handed to them on a platter by their friends or allies. Now it seems to me there is one problem. I think hiring managers all across America are missing one thing. Having employees (including President of the United States) with common sense is often overlooked when looking for the best and the brightest. I for one want to vote for a presidential nominee with character and good common sense to run the office of president. The president can hire the best and brightest to steer the country. I have listened to Obama and he is very intelligent at least by my standards. Let us not forget he is a Harvard trained attorney. We need to think outside the box. Okay, many people want someone with experience. There are many types of experience. There is experience in corruption and there is experience in performing the normal duties of an office. Yes, we could vote for experienced candidates but some may be experienced and in doctrinated into corruption. So lets not be so hasty in saying we want an experienced candidate.

Obama must have a strong group backing him because he has been the fastest rising star I have ever seen in recent history. The people love Obama because he is saying all the right things at the right time. It is almost reminiscent of former President Clinton’s Presidential campaigns. Obama is just so likeable. Yes, Mrs. Clinton is bright and experienced in the normal duties of office but for one reason or another she does not possess the personal magnetism of Obama or the former President Clinton. I am very direct like Mrs. Clinton and I think it shows courage and I think she would not have gotten this far without that directness especially since she is a women. Directness is a double edged sword though. With directness you can steer yourself toward your destiny but there is going to be fallout along the way.

I like both democratic presidential front runners, Obama and Clinton. Though I favor Obama. As far as the Obama’s campaign I think he has a chance to win. All the people who like him but hesitate to support him because they don’t think he can win should be ashamed of themselves and take a stand. Put up or shut up! How can we make changes in our government if we do not get involved in the electoral process? America is supposed to be this great melting pot but to date we have not had a minority or female president. I think if either candidate wins this will be a great day in American where for once we can honestly teach all children you can grow up to be the president if you put your mind to it and prepare yourself.

Obama is the man, myth, and soon to be legend. Well we know he is an intelligent man since he is Harvard educated. His shining star has risen so fast that it has almost reached mythological proportions. For a person who had not spent decades in the political arena he has done a remarkable job campaigning and standing up bravely to the so called formidable political machines aimed at him. In the recently televised Democratic Presidential debate (August, 2007) in Chicago various candidates started verbally going after Obama to gain brownie points for later consideration in case Mrs. Clinton wins. Finally, after the Presidential election (November 6, 2008) whether Obama wins or loses his story is what legends are made of……… Obama is the man, the myth, and soon to be legend. His presidential election story is one we can share for years and years to come.
