Some Cellular Telephone Ringtones, Or Are Some People Using Them Just To Get Attention?

Judy Ramsook
Attention, it is the one thing most people crave for and some people in our midst will do just about anything to acquire just a little bit of it or a lot.

Some will do things like don the most colourful or revealing piece of clothing to piercing a visible part of one?s body such as an eyebrow or both of them for that matter. Then there are some who will take the high tech route.

And that can come in the form of downloading an odd or unusual cellular telephone ringtone or two. Now there are some ringtones that are pleasing to the ear, like that of a favourite song or piece of music.

Then there are some famous movie quote lines that may have sounded good in whatever respective movie that quote is from, but what happens when some one places one of those famous movie quotes to act as a cellular telephone ringtone?

Depending on where one happens to be when that cellular telephone rings, the owner of the high tech communicative device with the odd sounding ringtone can be met with a host of different reactions.

Say, for example the owner of a cellular telephone has a ringtone from a well known movie such as an Al Pacino one with the actor saying the line: ?Say Hello To My Little Friend? as the telephone rings.

Not only do those strangers at that public place who happen to hear that ringtone realize that the owner of that cellular telephone may be an avid Al Pacino fan, but some of those strangers might have also been a little stunned upon hearing such a recording, especially if they have not seen the movie the quote happens to be from.

To top things off, the owner of that cellular telephone might let it ring three or four times before answering it, which can be sort of annoying. Talk about acquiring attention.

This is prevalent when the owner of the cellular telephone deliberately allows his/her phone to ring more than three times before answering it.

In addition, almost everyone in a ten foot or more radius can hear what that person is saying to the caller on the other end, especially if the call did not happen to be an emergency type situation.

Variety is good, but as ringtones and cellular telephones become more high tech, it might be refreshing to hear a cellular telephone actually ring once in a while as opposed to hearing something like, ?Say Hello To My Little Friend? or ?Luke, I Am Your Father?the next time one happens to be in a public setting and a cellular telephone happens to ring.
