LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo announced last week that his office has secured a conviction and a two year jail sentence for a man seen exposing himself to employees at the Grove Shopping Center and Farmer’s Market.

Ronald Stanbach, 48, pled guilty to three counts of indecent exposure and three counts of lewd conduct in division 41 of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Judge Craig Mitchell sentenced Stanbach to two years in county jail as well as mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.

Charges against Stanbach stem from three separate incidents in March and April at the Grove Shopping Center and Farmer’s Market. On March 3, Stanbach exposed himself to two employees at Kado restaurant in the Grove. This incident was followed by two additional incidents where Stanbach exposed himself and began masturbating in public in front of two Grove employees, a hostess at Dupar’s Bakery and a cashier at the Barnes & Noble’s third floor Starbuck’s Café. Investigators believe all of the victims were young women in their early twenties. Parking enforcement personnel at the Grove were subsequently able to identify Stanbach from surveillance video resulting in his arrest.

Stanbach has a history of similar behavior, including a 2005 incident on a subway platform near downtown Los Angeles and a 2006 incident across the street from Los Angeles Trade Tech College.

Results of the investigation were forwarded to City Attorney Delgadillo’s Child Abuse Protection Unit for prosecution by Deputy City Attorney Lara Schwartz. Stanbach surrendered today in division 41 to begin serving his sentence.
