Interview with the Ghost Hunter

Over the past two weeks I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Hans Holzer, the internationally known writer, parapsychologist and university professor and father of Alexandra Holzer, a contributing writer to UFODigest. Mr. Holzer has written over 140 books concerning ghosts, the paranormal and UFOs. He is 87-years old and is publishing a new book. His mind is sharp and as you'll read, his opinions are straightforward and direct. I appreciate the assistance of Alexandra Holzer, without whom, these interviews would not have taken place.

During my initial interview with Mr. Hans Holzer on Wednesday August 1, 2007, we discussed various areas including ghosts and hauntings and UFOs and their occupants. The following is based on my notes taken during that conversation.

Regarding the modern "ghost busters" he believes that they rely too heavily on gadgets and don't take the time to conduct the interviews and gather real evidence. He insists that any serious investigation must include the use of a proven medium or transmedium in order to make actual contact with the spirit or ghost.

As a scientist, he states, that there really is no paranormal. There are just areas of our reality that we don't have the ability to understand, but if we progress scientifically, we will eventually discover and recognize the complexities of our existence and understand that everything is part of the natural order of our universe.

I asked about angels and the belief in them and of religion in general and that many perceive them as being supernatural in nature. He answered that there were no angels and that all world religions were basically large companies and that scaring the "Hell" out of their followers was very profitable.

We then discussed UFOs and their occupants. He doesn't believe it to be accurate to call extraterrestrials "aliens": Aliens are from other countries not star systems. A more accurate term would be extraterrestrial or humanoid.

I asked if he believed that extraterrestrials altered our DNA thousands of years ago, as Zecharia Sitchin suggests, and he agrees, "it is possible."

Then I asked why he believes that the ETs are abducting our citizens and his answer was both profound and frightening. First he thinks that abductees are being taken because the extraterrestrials are performing genetic experiments in an attempt to create a super-race of hybrids: Supermen! Then he added, although they may be thousands if not millions of years older then us, and have mastered both telepathy and space-travel, they have lost their "humanity", and it is this loss that they are desperately trying to recover.

The following are answers to a set of follow-up questions to Mr. Holzer on Sunday August 12, 2007. Note my questions are in normal type while Mr. Holzer's are in bold.

Part I

You first gained international attention as the "ghost hunter" for a series of books on your investigations of ghosts and hauntings.

Yes, my first book was the start to my investigations as an academic parasychologist.

Can you give us your definition of what a ghost or haunting is?

Human beings die and when one sees a ghost, it is also seeing a spirit, which is where the confusion lies. When we are born, we are born with a double body-etheric body. People see an inner body with a likeness to what that person looked like in life. It is hard to tell the difference sometimes, but this is a ghost. A spirit is the inner body that shows in the from called a ghost that is not satisfied and can't pass on. Thus, a haunting is this ghost in a place where it can't leave.

Could you explain what was the "Amityville Horror"?

I was invited there twice and was one of the first on the scene. The first book was written by another man whose editor actually wrote it. They wanted it more of a book about horror whereas my books were about the case and investigations leading up to and after the murders. This was not a horror case to me. I looked at it differently and went on to write many books on this topic thereafter.

Of all of your investigations concerning ghosts and hauntings, which cases stand us in your mind, which did you find to be the most interesting?

They are all equally to the same to me. People write or call me because they are scared or a place needs my help. Then, I would go and bring a well-trained transmedium and investigate.

Your investigations always involved the use of mediums. Could you tell us why?

Yes. The above question is why. A scientific investigation must have a well-trained transmedium for communication. It is the only way.

What is your opinion on today's "ghost busters" with their websites, radio and television shows that feature: electronic voice phenomena, thermometers, voltage meters and so on?

Look, today's Ghost Busters with their equipment for me is all nonsense. You don't need any of this. To me, it is an amateur's way. I did it and succeeded just the same. It may not have been as exciting as today's' reality shows are broadcasting, but, I am the real deal and this is where I differ form all those out there currently and why I am the one who brought out more investigators interested in the subject itself.

You are the author of over 100 books and I understand you have just published a new book - The Spirit Connection. Could you tell us what the book is about?

Yes. The Spirit Connection shows cases where people come to me about receiving help from the other side. Sometimes it is a relative or friend. The intervention by these people was best said by the late Eileen Garrett, "death is life's other door." A good friend of mine, author, Bishop Jim Pike and I were taking a walk one day out in California. On this walk, we discussed of his late son's recent communication with his father. Jim didn't know what to call his book about his story and so I came up with the name, 'The Other Side of Life.' From then on, many titles would become the other side this, the other side that and so on.

Part II

Many people recognize your name: Hans Holzer: but associate you with ghosts. But you have written dozens of books about the paranormal and UFOs.

Yes. I am best known for writing about ghosts. So much so, that at one point back in the day, I came up with the idea to do a TV series on ghosts but it never 'materialized', pardon the pun.

Do you believe we are being visited by extraterrestrials from other planets?

Yes. Since ancient times, I believe this and the one case that has always led me is the Betty Hill case in which these beings were 37 1/2 light years away from a specific Sun, which is also a Star. Many other planets have life on their stars. It all varies on age and how far away they are in order to sustain life. Look, we haven't gotten there yet so we really don't know. All we do know is the book, 'Interrupted Journey' which tells us in detail about stars and their suns existing where life can survive.

How many ET races are visiting the earth?

The universe is enormous. We just don't know. And there are no monsters in space, that's just Hollywood.

Why are they here?

As we investigate people here on our planet, they do the same with their kind and ours. There called humanoids and it varies depending of conditions of life and distance of the planets to their suns/stars. We have no definite knowledge other then the exciting cases at hand, mainly Betty Hill.

Why are they abducting humans?

They want to learn about us in our system. With those who are not returned, I believe they are kept for research. As they have their own doctors, are curious about us, as we would be of them.

I understand you regressed or had someone regress Betty Hill and helped her recover the memory of the famous Starmap. Could you tell us your experience with Betty and Barney Hill?

Betty Hill, I knew very well as you probably already know. She told me that the captain of the ship asked her to show them where she came from. Betty had asked the captain where she was and he told her to answer her first. She replied that she was only a housewife, what did she really know? Not content with the answer, the captain turned away and pushed her back and told her that he would not tell her where she was. Barney had passed before I had a chance to meet him.

There seems to be a new religion emerging that combines extraterrestrials, with their messages concerning: nuclear annihilation, over population and global warming.

Religion has nothing to do with space. Global warning, well yes, that may be so. Other life is worried about how we are on earth because it will affect their systems setting off a possible chain reaction. I believe they are trying to protect themselves.

Believers are relating ETs to angels, seeing the grays are messengers.

Angels are a fantasy part of religion. They want to be called, beings of light. And ETs are NOT beings of light.

What is your opinion about mixing UFOs with religion?

UFOs come from other suns/stars where there is no religion involved.

In your opinion does the U.S. and other governments have knowledge of the extraterrestrials and their craft visiting our planet?

Yes. I believe the British and our government and others know about them.

If so, why do they not disclose this information to the public?

Because they do not want to frighten the public as I feel we are not ready.

Why do many abductees report-seeing agents of the C.I.A. and other government agencies on the ships or in the operating rooms during alien abductions?

CIA, no. Perhaps part of the other ET's team looking similar to our kind, which I believe some do.
