Buying a Church Bus - Facts and Tips
The Type of Bus
The first thing you have to decide on when buying a used church bus is what type of bus you want. One of the biggest differences between buses is the body style, with the two most major options being conventional and flat-front pusher. The flat-front pushers tend to be better sellers all around because they offer more room and are typically made of higher quality.
Size
You also want to take the size of the church bus into consideration, and weight issues in church buses should most certainly never be ignored or avoided. If the bus itself is too heavy or becomes too heavy with passengers on it, then you will not be able to steer it properly, the engine and transmission will be damaged and possibly even destroyed, and the suspension will flatten, among other things.
Rust
Rust is one of the most important aspects of all to consider when buying a church bus. Although a bit of rust is acceptable, you should never buy any church bus that has rust on its frame or supporting body. Never accept structural rust, flaking frames or hood hinge mounts, because these will all be major problems as they continue to get worse.
Where to Buy it
When it comes to actually buying the coach or bus, there are several options that you have, one of the best being at auctions. This is because here you can get almost brand new quality with used buses but for half the price and so you can really save a lot of money this way. There is also the option of buying from a used bus dealer, however if you decide to go this route you want to make sure that the seller is legit and legal and make sure you check the bus out before buying it.
As long as you take all of the previously mentioned information into serious consideration, then when you do actually go to buy a bus you will be informed and knowledgeable and will know what to look for.
