Donations Urgently Sought For Echols’ Defense Fund

Frank Brooks
It’s been less than a month since preliminary DNA testing concluded in the infamous ‘West Memphis Three’ case, testing which has so far proved that no scientific link exists between Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, or Jessie Misskelly and the Robin Hood Hills crime scene or victims Chris Byers, Steven Branch, or Michael Moore. With optimism in the air and encouragement flowing for three men who may have been wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for nearly a decade and a half, WM3 supporters say that they have a reached a crucial time financially.

Lorri Davis and the official WM3 support website have made an impassioned plea for donations which are critically needed to continue the legal and scientific processes which they feel can warrant a new trial for the three. With Echols still languishing on Death Row, and his appeals nearly exhausted at the state level, supporters say the amount of funding needed may not only result in a new trial, but will save Echols’ life.

Without the sufficient funding to continue legal processes and scientific efforts, time may eventually run out for the group convicted in the most famous case in Arkansas. After fourteen years, this controversial example of either satanic ritual or tragic miscarriage of justice is finally coming to a close. And sadly, money may be the only thing that divides the two.

Those wishing to donate can visit the official ‘West Memphis Three’ website for more information.
