Does George Bush Get It, And Lib’s Don’t
The past week’s events seem to have the Democrats in turmoil. Minority Senate leader Harry Reid, Senator Chuck Schumer, and Senator Dick Durbin appeared on national television this evening red faced and nearly foaming at the mouth. The things Democrats have been pinning their hopes on to bring down this administration or at least cripple it are melting down before their eyes.
Indicting Karl Rove would have been a pivotal turning point for Democrats, it didn’t happen. The Special Prosecutor refused to make the War in Iraq an issue in his investigation, another failure for Democrats. Indicting I. Lewis [Scooter] Libby wasn’t much of a prize for Democrats. Even less for their [joined at the hip] liberal media friends, the public doesn’t know Lewis Libby therefore he has little value as a target in the administration. Leaving the Democrats frustrated to the point of their silly little ploy of closing down the Senate for a coupe of hours. The public doesn’t know and doesn’t care about the inner workings of congress. They would prefer not to see these childish moves those spoiled childish Senators use when they don’t get their own way.
President Bush and Republicans seem to be taking back the high ground. As much as the Democratic leadership try they can’t seen to pin anything substantial on the President and his administration.
Karl Rove wasn’t indicted, the war in Iraq wasn’t part of the Special Prosecutors investigation, There’s no evidence Valerie Plame was outed by anyone other than the media, or perhaps her own husband. Joe Wilson’s attack on the Whitehouse is beginning to look more like a personal vendetta each time he speaks. Tom DeLay is beginning to place attention on the Democratic politics of a disgruntled District Attorney and his lackey Judge pal. We’ll no doubt see the same outcome as with Kay Bailey Hutchison when these two went after her a few years ago.
When did the congress become so childish in their behavior? I recall in years gone by disagreement between the parties were worked out in private. The public wasn’t inundated with the same ranker we see between the political parties we see today. The public had respect for their elected officials. Their constant foolish chatter and the public scarcely pay attention to what they say.
Why should we expect any different behavior form the congress? The voters keep sending these representatives back election after election. I doubt it was the intention of the founding fathers for men to spend an entire career in the congress of the United States. I’m more inclined to believe they thought good men would take a brief period of time out of their lives to come forward and serve a term or two, then move back and let the next good man take over.
Robert Byrd, Teddy Kennedy, and Patrick Leahy can scarcely put together a coherent sentence, their speeches and utterances are right out of the DNC talking points book. They all speak as one.
Democrats have been trying from the first day of President Bush’s election in 2000 to take the wheels off his administration. They fill their time making up accusations rather than making plans for the future of America. With no agenda, how do they expect the public to take them serious as a party who can lead us?
God, you gave them a brain please help them find it.
