My desire for America and our future; Part 1
Iraq militarily is doing much better however there is no true Iraqi government that even acts like it wants total control. You must ask yourself “why would they”? We foot the bill for everything from reconstruction to the majority of fighting. We have put up the money and manpower and the Iraqi government takes a vacation despite the problems within. The Saudi’s supply the Sunni’s with weapons and Iran supplies the Shiite population with weapons and guidance. Al-Qeada plays the one that insights the violence between these two divisions of the Muslim faith.
The Kurds in the north have had a form of autonomy from the national government since before our invasion. Although very limited, they as a people did create institutions and provided services to the people of northern Iraq. Iran and Turkey have made it clear that the Iraqi Kurds must not be allowed to separate from Baghdad’s control. Creating us even more complication’s to the situation.
We all realize that this invasion was uncalled for as it has become what we call a money pit. Don’t think that the absence of Iraqi oil on the market has not contributed to our high fuel costs. Iraq can only pump 25-30% of prewar production and so again America pays as does the rest of the world. There were many experts on the Middle East that warned of this result beforehand. That is our biggest problem as we ignore those that express caution with dialogue.
We teach our children to talk it out but we rarely allow it when it comes to international relations. So a fight or constant threat of a fight ensues. Remember that Nixon turned China from a combatant to a viable member of the world society. Reagan turned the Soviet Empire into non existence. And the whole result was due to openness and talking at all levels.
Pakistan has now again become a concern for us as Al-Qeada and the Taliban have a foot hold in the tribal lands. President Musharif overthrew the democratically elected government of Ms. Bhutto in 1997. He is a questionable ally as his secret police helped the Taliban take over Afghanistan. As we have learned over the years a totalitarian government from the developing world is not going to last. History is our eyes on the future.
There are no reasons why we can’t send in a covert-op team to take out the Al-Qeada leadership. This excuse that it would cause President Musharif problems is beyond concern. The cooperation is supposed to be absolute. Can a man on Kidney dialysis really hide this well? Are we just keeping Osama Bin-Laden out there for excuses to adjust our rights and give reason for deflection of the real issues in America?
Isn’t funny how North Korea went from threat to submission once discussions resumed. It would appear that this nuclear threat has gone by the way side for now. Wave that mighty dollar and all come to their knees.
We all have facts to face as a One World Society is the goal of many. Not that all are bad people or that all see things the same. There is just a drive to make money more important than human life. And this is going to make America continue to be the police and empire builders of tomorrow. A free college education is incentive for Americans to join the armed services. When jobs are not available to find that support yourself let alone a family this seems like a good idea. Are we being manipulated into serving as the worlds’ policeman?
Just remember that our country that claims to be fair and peaceful has caused many wars over the years. Guatemala, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba, Iraq, Grenada and Panama have all had United States interference in government choices. CIA documents prove our involvement. These manipulations and involvement need to cease as of yesterday.
We are not an example as how the rest of the world should be. Our internal structure is falling apart. We have become a service dominated society. The problem is that you can’t survive off this wage. Even $10.00 an hour won’t support a family of three. Most likely the true numbers of those that lack health insurance is much more than the government claimed 47 million is. How can we pay for a free national healthcare system? Raise taxes on the rich and stop wasting money on wars that gain us nothing. The days of rebuilding have gone into history. We can’t repeat the 50’s as our own infrastructure has begun to crumble due to neglect.
Let us worry about what goes on within our own borders. We are becoming everything that we claim is America is not.
