Minnesota Bridge: The Missing Question.

Michael C. Morris
Each and everyday 300 million Americans, excuse me 286 to 289 million Americans depending how many Illegal’s are counted, go about their daily routines knowing full well that this government is broken, that corruption and graft are the ways of politics, and that more than likely most of the taxes they pay out of every paycheck goes into someone’s pocket. But they trod along saying to themselves, what are they going to do about it and it does not affect me personally. I am sure that was in the minds of the people, at one time or another, on that ill fated bridge in Minnesota.

The collapse of the bridge for no apparent reason, quote un quote, has already been exposed as one of many bridges that is in need of major repairs in the country, but the one important question has yet to be asked about this bridge. Where did all of the billions of tax dollars that were paid by American’s in the form of fuel taxes that are to be used for such repairs go?

CNN started to touch the subject today with two members of congress but that discussion quickly degraded, as it always does, into the your fault argument based on your political affiliation lovers quarrel or an alcoholic character defect. Dead bodies are at the bottom of a river because a bridge failed and once again all we get as tax paying citizens is more BS from the government with no accountability but plenty of finger pointing!

My guess as to why the bridge failed and where the money went, well it is not rocket science.

The bridge failed because the money that was earmarked to repair the bridge is more than likely in someone’s vacation home, new car, trip to Europe or even the War in Iraq that we all agree that we should be wasting One Billion Dollars ($1,000,000,000.00) a day on. Wonder if anyone who profits from that war was on the bridge, or was it just ordinary men, women and children?

Maybe this was a wakeup call to the American people that electing an ego maniac president and a lap dog to big business congress over and over again does affect you and your family in many more ways than you can even contemplate each and every day.

Think about that the next time your about to cross a bridge with your family, or maybe better, grow a set, call your congressmen and senators and demand that a complete audit of all monies earmarked for that bridge be accounted for and if there is a problem, take the person who stole the money and then drop them from a bridge. Maybe that way, a message will be heard loud and clear by our government.

Of course you could always just drive across the bridge blindly believing that you will not fall just like you did a few days ago!
