White House Demands Parody Site Stop Using Presidential Seal

Battered by Hurricane Katrina, bogged down by Iraq, buffeted by the DeLay indictment, belittled for his failed Miers' nomination and beleaguered by Plamegate -- these are not the best of times for George W. Bush.

The White House has a lot on its plate, but it still has time to demand that "The Onion", an online publication that often spoofs the Bush administration, stop using the presidential seal on its Web site.

White House spokesman Trent Duffy said "When any official sign or seal is being used inappropriately the party is notified."

The Bush team needs to lighten up, at a time like this when nothing is going right for them, they could use a few laughs and read "The Onion."

It could be argued that the inept and clueless George W. Bush has no right using the presidential seal. When Dubya nominates someone like Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court, his podium shouldn't feature the presidential seal, it should be emblazoned with the image of Alfred E. Neuman.

Thankfully, "The Onion" has not capitulated to pressure from the White House, as of today the presidential seal is still featured on the parody Web site.
