Dick Cheney was the CIA Leak

According to the New York Times, Dick Cheney was the one who leaked Plame’s CIA connection. He supposedly did not give her name specifically, but her work. Who did he tell it to? None other than his chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby. Now he (Libby) faces perjury (lying) charges because he told the Grand Jury that he did not know until the reporters told him. According to Judith Miller’s notes of June 12, 2003, there is no suggestion that either man knew Plame was classified. Hmm, that is interesting.

The White House has gone into “tight lip” mode, sending Cheney spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride to say, "We're cooperating fully, as the president and the vice president directed us." Well, isn’t that special.

So, this weak the indictments will come down, but most likely Cheney will not get one. He was talking to his aid about business. Libby was the one that went running to tell whoever would listen.

There was an episode of the West Wing where Toby had said something to his aids, and the aids leaked it. Is this a case that Libby felt higher than he was for being “in the know?” Or, could it be more sinister in that he wanted to harm Joe Wilson for coming against the President? Either way, send this guy to jail for his loose lips and making the taxpayers have to pay the bill.
