The News Media is Hearing About the Wrong Thompson-Powell Ticket!

GOP Presidential contender Tommy Thompson has already floated the idea of having former US Secretary of State General Colin Powell as a member of his adminstration, assuming he even receives the Republican nomination. However, there is a better ticket available to Republicans: Fred Thompson and Colin Powell.
Forgetting your preference in politics for a moment, think of the logic of this combination. A staunch conservative that is also comfortable with both the media and the occasional moderate idea, Fred Thompson is the first potential candidate to actually look, act and seem "presidential." Colin Powell, a former Secretary of State that is obviously not one to hide his opinions from his boss yet like a true "second in command" knows when to speak, when to shut up and when to either tow or buck the "party line" for the greater good. In other words, both men have been proven to have charisma, balance, nerve, ethics (well, as much ethics as you can have in Washington) and for those looking for an "angle," you have a proven conservative politician who actually cares for constituents and a man of color who looks beyond the color of his own skin to see a greater world at large.
This country's reputation in the world is in need of serious repair but not at the expense of National Security. Colin Powell knows this and can use his skills to build up both the US Foreign Policy and National Security. Fred Thompson will stand up for principles that many Americans believe in, but has been proven to be a politician who will vote for the People vs. his own ego. If you're a Democrat you can respect that, and if you're a Republican, you've been longing for that. What's not to like about this ticket.
