Join in a salute to service people and their families at the Hometown Heroes Homecoming at the Indiana War Memorial July 4th. There will be musical performances, picnic dinners, areas to learn more about the military and supporting our troops, and much more.

Stick around on the 4th for the Regions Bank "Freedom Blast," which is the largest fireworks display in Indiana. The downtown sky will light up starting at 9:45 p.m. from the rooftop of the One Indiana Square Tower. Attendees are encouraged to bring their radios and tune to WFBQ, 94.7 FM, for a synchronized concert of patriotic and popular music.

Also on the 4th, The Indiana State Museum invites everyone to celebrate Independence in Indiana from its scenic location on the downtown canal walk. As a part of the city's Canal Family Fest, visitors to the museum can enjoy a special celebration including fun, family-oriented activities before the annual downtown fireworks. After hours, visitors may enjoy the fireworks from the cafe terrace.

The Indiana State Museum is located at the White River State Park, Indiana’s first and only urban state park. It’s here you’ll discover an amazing array of incredible attractions, museums and recreational opportunities nestled along the banks of the Central Canal, a restored waterway connecting them. Lush green spaces and paved walking trails flanked by antique street lights and benches that make your awe-inspiring journey through this metropolitan respite both convenient and comfortable. At the White River State Park you'll find unique attractions like the Indianapolis Zoo, NCAA Hall of Champions, the Indiana State Museum, Victory Field and the Eiteljorg Museum of Native Americans and Western Art to explore. Walkers, runners and bikers can enjoy the entire three-mile Central Canal walk, taking in memorials, historical markers and a variety of fountains and other water features, without ever having to cross a busy street.

Celebrate your Independence with a Yankee Doodle Symphony at Conner Prairie on the 4th with Patriotic pops, veterans salute, and holiday fun under the Stars. Strolling living history interpreters will greet concertgoers. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for picnicking and pre-concert entertainment. The evening concludes with spectacular fireworks display.

Enactors and live music will bring President Benjamin Harrison Home memories to life on July 4 between 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. During the festivities enjoy the Annual 4th of July Ice Cream Social during this spirited yet relaxed celebration prior to fireworks celebration in downtown Indianapolis. Guests can enjoy a round of croquet and other Victorian games available on the south lawn of the President Benjamin Harrison Home in Indianapolis. Special activities like a scavenger hunt for children and a re-enactment of Harrison’s July 4, 1888 acceptance speech of his nomination for President of the United States will be part of the family fun for all to enjoy.
