US Mayors Plan Policy and Pray for Peace Together in LA

The nation's mayors will gather in LA for the annual meeting of the US Conference of Mayors, hosted by LA's own Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa.
The mayors will meet in issue-specific committees throughout the week and decide which proposed policies will advance to the entire USCM general body. Climate and children's issue will play heavily in the agenda. They will then adopt policy recommendations to forward to Congress.
Speakers will include Presidential hopefuls: US Senator Hilllary Clinton (NY), US Congressman Dennis Kucinich (OH), Governer Bill Richardson (NM), as well as Governer Arnold Schwarzenegger (CA).
The conference will kick-off with an unprecendented Interfaith Service, a prayer for peace in America's cities presented by representatives of the various denominations and spiritual practices within the city of Los Angeles. Guest speakers will include the world-renowned preacher and teacher of 'The Secret', Reverand Dr Michael Beckwith (http://www.agapelive.com).
