Viva Las Vegoose! Biggest New Music Festival in Western U.S. to be October 29-30 in Las Vegas

June Caldwell
Halloween weekend and tired of the same old costume party? Well imagine a huge costume party ? and mega concert - rolled into one, in the place that is one big costume party all year round, Las Vegas! That gives you a hint of what to expect at VEGOOSE. Saturday and Sunday, October 29 and 30, at Sam Boyd Stadium and on the surrounding grounds, will be the launch of a Las Vegas Halloween festival extravaganza, VEGOOSE. The stellar mix includes the mega-star likes of Dave Matthews with the best international alternative new music like The Arcade Fire, Beck, up-and-comings The Decembrists and Sleater-Kinney along with roots rock Bonnaroo staples like Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh with Ryan Adams, and Michael Franti. Don?t forget to throw in hip hop giants Atmosphere, Slightly Stoopid, Digable Planets and King Britt along with about 25 other luminary bands, and you have the basis for the powerful witches brew.

If the MO seems familiar, that is because the producers of this event are Superfly Productions and AC Entertainment, the same dynamic duo who brought us the now legendary annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, a four-day, multi-stage camping festival held on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee June 10-12. Apparently building Bonnaroo into an international-class festival in just 4 years was just not enough for these guys.

Consistent with their tendency to defy tradition, the mega festival will be held in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, heretofore ignored as a music festival site. So of course Las Vegas glam entertainment such as the Blue Man Group will be part of the fun. Why not spit in the face of traditions where audiences are warned not to wear costumes on Halloween weekend (which is half the fun), and instead encourage costumes to the big party? No reason at all?the party is definitely on, costumes and all!!

Tickets for the two-day festival at Sam Boyd Stadium are available at www.vegoose.com.

In addition to the events at the stadium, VEGOOSE will be augmented by a series of special late night performances from October 28-31 at select venues throughout Las Vegas, including the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, the Orleans Arena and other venues. These shows will be ticketed separately.

Complete festival information is available at www.vegoose.com and will be regularly updated.
