Misuse of E-props : : : The newest American Epidemic

John T. Darrah
There is major epidemic going on that most people are completely oblivious to. It is something that can boost egos, only to have them torn right back down all in the name of making someone feel good. This epidemic must be stopped. This epidemic is called “e-prop”.

A “prop”, as defined by Dictionary.com as:

A plan suggested for acceptance; a proposal

All over the popular website Xanga, e-props are being given out, without proper dues being paid first. Let’s go through a few examples of post topics not deserving of e-props:

-When someone puts on his or her site how big of an asshole/bitch or whatever someone else is

-When someone announces that his or her site is now private due to malicious behavior resulting from a controversial post

-When someone posts more than three sentences about something that took no more than three minutes to happen

Now, I do not want to offend any of the people that use the e-props freely. I know it is a tool used to personal expression and no one should limit anyone’s freedom of expression…except when used incessantly. So, for those that are e-prop challenged I have listed some reasons that are e-prop worthy:

    -Birth of a family member

    -Good exam scores

-Graduation from college (high school graduations are acceptable on certain terms –when in doubt, e-mail me and I will decide if it is necessary or unnecessary)

I hope by writing this article I have cleared up any misconceptions about the proper and improper use of the e-prop. If you have any questions regarding the usage of an e-prop, please, do not hesitate to e-mail me.
