Joe Lieberman Warmonger. AOL Warmongers? 50% Ok Air Attack Iran 41% Say no? Oh My God Rabid or What?

Patrick Lockyer
Joe is keen on yet another attack and a lot of Americans agree with him? Are you stark raving Rabid?

What is wrong with this renegade ‘shoot from the hip’ country? What was wrong with the ‘reticence’ of joining Britain in a World War? What was wrong with having to be declared war on and attacked by the Japanese before wanting a bunch of carnage? Is it that we can just sit back and let the grunts take the strain of yet another campaign? Any chances of the equivalent of Prince Harry stepping up to the plate this side of Christmas Lieberman? Any Senate or Cabinet offspring going to war any time soon? No, it will continue to be the young people wanting the education they cannot afford with dreams of affluence who will be mutilated once more. No celebrity children this time. No JFK’s No Ronald Reagans, No Audie Murphy nor probably even a Pat Tillman after that debacle.

Lets Bomb another Easy Meat nation Joseph? The World won’t mind? They wont see the Roman Empire gone mad and if they do who cares? Unilateral, Isolational America is bleating about attacking Iran as we need more body bags and more lost gun ships. No we don’t need to re build New Orleans, much more important to flatten some dust bowl town where they all live in wonderful ignorance of our power?

The World saw how much many Americans cared about Lebanese deaths at the hands of Israel and yet we scowl when we see celebrations in the Middle East post 9/11? Why would THAT be?

Lieberman goes on about Iranian possible help to their occupied neighbor as if we cannot accept that concept? We don’t recognize that we occupy and are ‘invaders’ so how COULD we possibly appreciate that not only Iraqi’s hate us for that but so do most Muslims (including the ones who pretend to be our friends) and so do most neighboring nations. Do we think that our allies Pakistan love our dominance and threats to their nation? C’mon Folks get real. Did none of us ever experience the playground Bully who we all could not wait for him to get his ‘just deserts’?

By Lieberman's reasoning when Britain was aided by America in the Falklands War the Argentineans should have bombed Washington? So tell me Lieberman which town should we bomb? Who should we kill? What will it ensure? No more assistance from neighbors to usurp the invaders? More like a surge of new recruits to be suicide bombers to ensure that the circle of violence keeps the militaristic rich and that helicopter shares will soar even higher.

The first thing is to let a United Nation force help Iraq get stability. Then evaluate Iran’s behavior. Do they want Nuclear Power? Yes of course they do. All nations do. India does, Pakistan does. Poland does. We have uncontrolled Nuclear Power. We have SO much Nuclear Power that WE can decide whom else does. We can decide that Israel can have as much power as we can give them, as they are almost another State of the Union. Now why on earth do the Arab Nations and the Muslim Peoples not love that idea I wonder?

America needs a DIPLOMAT in office. Ideally more than one! Maybe a whole Cabinet of them? It seems that many other nations have a whole bunch of them as I don’t see German, French, Danish, Finnish, Romanian, Irish, Dutch, flags being paraded and burnt in protest around the world. If America was a Company and was being appraised in a business sense you would have to say that the Publicity Officer should have been sacked four years ago. Any Government that can go from the almost universal condemnation of 9/11 and World Support that was evident six years ago to the complete reversal and squander of that wholesome support to the aberration of American Policy and Values that exist today must need to be give a complete re-education of fact.

I know it is hard for some Americans to accept that they are not top of the tree in affection as, just like the playground rich kid they think that having a fortune ‘ensures’ popularity and for naivety to exist on a national scale is somewhat scary. Being able to ‘buy’ your support i.e. Pakistan or ‘bully’ your support is not a good thing to rely on. The Core Values HAVE to be upheld. Accept that there will be some neighborhood support of Insurgency just as WE would do if Canada were occupied by a major intimidating power. Bury this idea of lowly Iran being a threat. They do NOT constitute a threat to us in any way and if they do to Israel then we have supplied them to the hilt with modern technology as deployed disgustingly in Lebanon and they are big enough and wild enough to fight their own battles and you get a feeling that they just love a fight anyway as their Publicity Officer has an even harder job than American ones to justify the sledgehammer to crack a nut tendency. Can America even see where it has gone wrong? Doubt it!

If Joe Lieberman and Guiliani (who was a great Mayor) are all this great nation has to offer in the way of future Presidents then I despair. It is clear that no one can be secure in having the nations support unless they are a CLONE. They have to be all things CLONED. They have to have only one view on abortion, gays and warmongering. They have to be able to say “God talks to me” with a straight face. Even IF their daughter has been in a gay relationship for many years and is artificially inseminated they have to be in denial of that and say that marriage of a man and a woman is the only acceptable union of Americans. There are men in high office that I personally could NEVER admire or support who progress BECAUSE and only BECAUSE of their willingness to DENY. I personally am glad that my gay daughter is able to hold down a high position in the UK and that she is not thought of as sinful and even though I know that many good friends here and my American wife have been brought up to think of same sex relationships as sinful, I never will. It is obviously as Nature intended. I could NEVER ‘deny’ to progress. Who needs it?

Much work is needed by a hero or heroine to turn it around. Folk will have to wake up and NOT support the violent response to all that might oppose America and all this ‘macho’ “we will be considered weak” need to be put to bed for a while. Goliath would not have been a great Statesman I’m sure. David was!

U.S. Should Weigh Iran Attack, Senator Says Lieberman Says

Air Campaign Should Be an Option

WASHINGTON (June 10) - Sen. Joseph Lieberman said Sunday the United States should consider a military strike against Iran because of Tehran's involvement in Iraq . Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., here in January, said Iran's involvement in Iraq warrants "aggressive military action." "I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," Lieberman said. "And to me, that would include a strike over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers." The U.S. accuses Iran of fostering terrorism and Tehran's nuclear ambitions have brought about international reproach. Lieberman, the Democratic nominee for vice president in 2000 who now represents Connecticut as an independent, spoke of Iranians' role in the continued violence in Iraq. "We've said so publicly that the Iranians have a base in Iran at which they are training Iraqis who are coming in and killing Americans. By some estimates, they have killed as many as 200 American soldiers," Lieberman said. "Well, we can tell them we want them to stop that. But if there's any hope of the Iranians living according to the international rule of law and stopping, for instance, their nuclear weapons development, we can't just talk to them." He added, "If they don't play by the rules, we've got to use our force, and to me, that would include taking military action to stop them from doing what they're doing." Lieberman said much of the action could probably be done by air, although he would leave the strategy to the generals in charge. "I want to make clear I'm not talking about a massive ground invasion of Iran," Lieberman said. "They can't believe that they have immunity for training and equipping people to come in and kill Americans," he said. "We cannot let them get away with it. If we do, they'll take that as a sign of weakness on our part and we will pay for it in Iraq and throughout the region and ultimately right here at home." To deal with Iran's nuclear ambitions, Democratic presidential hopeful Bill Richardson said tough negotiation is called for. "I would talk to them, but I would build an international coalition that would promote and push economic sanctions on them," Richardson said. "Sanctions would work on Iran. They are susceptible to disinvestment policy. They are susceptible to cuts, economic sanctions in commodities."

On Friday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Iran's detention of at least four Americans is unwarranted but will not stop Washington from trying to engage Iran on other matters, including its disputed nuclear program and alleged support of insurgents in Iraq. In an Associated Press interview, Rice also appeared to cast doubt on whether the U.S. would take its tentative diplomatic outreach to Iran any further for now. The U.S. and Iranian ambassadors in Iraq met last month for the first public, substantive high-level discussions the two countries have held in nearly three decades. Although limited to the topic of violence and instability in Iraq, the talks have been seen as a possible window to better relations. Immediately after the meeting in Baghdad , Iran announced plans for another. But U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker said Washington would decide only after the Iraqi government issued an invitation. U.S. officials also said they wanted to see Iran follow up on U.S. complaints that it is equipping and helping insurgents who attack American forces. Lieberman spoke on "Face the Nation" on CBS. Richardson was on "Late Edition" on CNN.
