Hate, Paris and The Browns

There is so much hate and fear in the world, I don’t know how people cope. I watched the television news again this week and although I only do it occasionally, I felt the need to check in on the world. And I found that crime is increasing dramatically, murders, rapes and burglaries have gone up by as much as thirty percent, as well as, more juveniles committing sex crimes. I flipped the channels as I am wont to do when watching network news and of course, the same stories are living out a life on each click of the dial, so I had to wonder, why the increase of fear? Not so much on terrorism this week, because maybe folks are bored and most of us barely blinked an eye at the supposed JFK plot last week, but this week’s news seemed to be focused more on our neighbors and strangers, you know, the average folks passing by our homes.

I understand what the media feeds us is a programmed script and I wonder why they are turning the screws on the “Be Afraid” propaganda, are we not intimidated enough? I mean really, if you want to solve the problem of crime, lower gas prices, it’s impossible to live on minimum wage and fill your gas tank to make it to work, much less everywhere else. But the powers that be, keep raising prices, raising taxes and raising the level of fear, what gives? And the same week they are telling us of the increase of crime, they are also debating the immigration bill and keeping us abreast on how many millions of immigrants are crossing our borders and living illegally on our soil. But we must remember that they tell us what they want us to hear and we know they are stirring the pot of fear, mustering up our anger and our hate, so the question becomes, why?

Paris Hilton is a perfect example, do we know anyone who doesn't hate her right now? We are united in hate. I’m not a fan of Ms. Hilton, but I see the manipulation of our emotions and recognize that she’s just a tool. The media has effortlessly created a group hate-fest and we are all participating. As long as we are spending our time and energy hating Paris Hilton, we’re missing a lot more important issues and being controlled like marionettes.

And then we have Ed and Elaine Brown in New Hampshire, refusing to pay income tax until the government shows them the law that requires our payments. Vermonts Channel 3 and
