New York Terrorist Threat a Hoax

Since September 11, 2001 the USA has been on pins and needles waiting for the next attack. This nation of fighters has seemed to have lost a part of its identity. Maybe it was the arrogance, but it seems more like it’s the spark.

I know enough about history to know that Middle Easterners are patient. They waited seven years before they attacked the World Trade Center after the first time. So why do we think that it would be any sooner? Why are we looking for underlings who probably don’t even know who their leader is?

What has gotten my bun in a knot? It is that New York went on alert for a bogus tip by an Iraqi informant. Could he have been testing our system? Ok, maybe that was suspicious of me, but I am wondering now. Did the people who sent the false information get the real information they were looking for? I hate to say it, but probably. Do not cower to a fool, but do not ignore his either. Law enforcement sources said the informant had provided some accurate information in the past and therefore his latest tip was given serious attention. Further, information alleging that someone involved in a possible New York plot had entered the United States has not been corroborated. "We still do not know if such a person even exists," an official said.

New York did the right thing, but next time they should really check their source before they get the city in a huff.
