Clothes, Where Would We Be Without Them?

Judy Ramsook
Clothes, we have been introduced to them since the moment we entered the world. For they define who we are, what occasion we are about to embark on, be it casual or formal and varying on the type of event, they can also indicate what types of clothing look best on us or make some of us feel comfortable.

And depending on the occasion, some persons can spend quite a long time trying on different pieces of clothing and getting dressed until he/she is satisfied with the way the clothes they are wearing fit, look and feel.

And there is something for everyone, since we all have our own individual tastes, likes and dislikes.

Depending on who you are, gender, and the size and shape of one’s body, there is a wide variety of clothes from which to choose.

For the woman or female, there are different types of dresses, gowns, skirts, undergarments, slacks, jeans, shorts and so on.

For the male, there are dress suits, as well as casual wear, such as jeans, trousers etc. And one does not have to look very far to see the different variations of formal and casual wear that is around today, for where would we be without clothes?

They make us look good if not better, can define our on the job position, and when we are going out on that casual occasion, it is also indicative of what type of clothing make us feel more comfortable.

Be it a pair of jeans, slacks, shorts or whatever it is we choose to wear, because the more comfortable one feels in the clothing he/she wears, the better he/she feels about himself/herself. Of course there are some clothes that come with a higher price tag than others.

These clothes are usually in the designer type category, but just about everywhere one happens to be, there are some clothes that are affordable as well, especially if one is not in a fortunate enough position to afford the highly coveted, designer wear.

But what really matters is that we have clothes, designer brands or not. Whether they protect us from harsh weather conditions such as extreme heat, sandstorms, cold, snow, rain, sleet, environmental pollutants and the like.

Or whether they just make us look good, or feel a certain way, something which might bring one to ponder, where would we indeed be without clothes?
