We Should Celebrate When Paris Hilton Goes To Jail
But there is something that the majority of fundamentalists and the non-religious disdain: The foolishness of celebrity worship.
Paris Hilton is the epitome of celebrity; she is a spoiled heiress who is famous for being famous. Instead of using her wealth and fame to promote a good cause, Paris' self-absorbed life is marked by scandals, misdemeanors and vulgar publicity stunts.
The world-famous party girl was sentenced to 45 days in the slammer for driving with a suspended license and violated a probation order.
From Showbizspy.com:
"Paris Hilton's 45-day jail sentence is to feted next month by a right-wing Christian group, who feel disgusted by the socialite's 'role model status.'"
I can't remember the last time I partied with evangelicals, but I wouldn't mind joining the Christian group in their celebration.
From Showbizspy.com:
"The sentence that has been deemed 'harsh' by Paris, and branded a 'joke' by her mother, came as a shock to many on the Hollywood circuit, but Mark Dice, founder of The Resistance, is jubilant the hotel heiress will be locked up.
He plans to mark the occasion by trashing her CDs and books at Hilton hotels around America, and urges young fans to join him in his 'celebrations'".
Hey Dice, I'm down with you, my brother. As a staunch proponent of free speech I would feel a little bit queasy about burning CDs and books, but an argument could be made that Hilton's CD's don't qualify as music and her books shouldn't be considered literature.
Mark June 5th down in your calendars, that's when Paris begins her stint in jail and the day when fundamentalists and sinners can party together.
