“Why should I believe in heaven? No-one has come back to say it exists.”

No-one has come back to say it doesn’t!

“I’m in heaven right now.”

No you’re not. Why do you lock your doors? You are surrounded by all kinds of evil: human greed, envy, pride, jealousy, lust, murder. After the judgment, heaven will contain only born again people who have repented and have trusted in Jesus. (Revelation 20:15, chapter 20 verse 15)

“What about all these religious people fighting each other?”

They are not true Christians. Jesus never told His disciples to fight anyone. Rather, He said “Love your enemies.” (Luke 6:27)

“Where is God? I don’t see Him.”

That is why you need faith. The work of God is evident all around you. You see the sun, moon, stars, rain, clouds, sky. Consider nature; flowers, shrubs, trees, birds, insects in infinite variety and colours. Consider the miraculous structure of the human brain.

“I’ll tell Jesus what I think of Him.”

No you won’t. On meeting Him you’ll be so fearful, remorseful, awestruck, dumbstruck, you won’t be able to say a word.

“How do I know the Bible is true?”

You will when you believe it. When you start to believe it then you’ll see its truth by changes in your life. Millions have.

“Christians try to force Christianity onto me.”

Mostly they don’t. Hearing the gospel is similar to hearing an advert on the radio. You hear the ad, but no-one is forcing you to buy the product. Did Jesus walk around with a weapon threatening people? He merely told the disciples to tell everyone (Mark 16:15). The final choice is yours.

“I do everything my way.”

Your way cannot save you in the midst of an earthquake, tidal wave, tornado. In that situation you will most likely pray.

“I’m a good person. I’m not a sinner!”

Be honest. Did you ever tell a lie; steal anything, use God’s name as a swear-word; covet someone else’s wife or property. Is sport your god - or money, pleasure? All of us have broken at least one of God’s Ten Commandments. The Bible says that all have sinned (Romans 3:23).

“God is love. He will never punish anyone.”

Yes, He is love, but Jesus says in John 3:36 - “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.”

“All roads lead to God.”

Jesus (no-one else) bled on the cross to take your sins. He was crucified, dead, buried, and rose from the dead as He said He would. Many Bible witnesses spoke to Him after rising from the dead. This same Jesus says: “I am the way, the truth and the life; no-one comes to the Father except by Me.” (John 14:6) So Jesus says He is the way to God.
