NFL: BIG D Shines

This afternoon, Offensive Coordinators around the NFL have gotten a wake up call about a certain defense and it doesn’t have a Lewis, Trotter, Kearse, Polamalu, or Harrison on the Depth Chart.

Defensively, the Cincinnati Bengals have now racked up 13 take-aways in 3 games with five players Williams, James, Simmons, O’Neal, and Ratliff all having Int’s against the Bears this afternoon.

Madieu Williams the 2nd year player out of Maryland is one of the most impressive Safeties at this point in the season. Williams against the Bears Williams led the Bengals with 8 solo tackles, 1 assist, and 1 Int.

Offensively, Cincinnati really picked up things after the first half, but a big problem that is going to loom and that needs to be corrected, is the fact that they seem not be able to get MAX PROTECTION for Quarterback Carson Palmer. Even without the MAX PROTECTION Palmer in arguably his best fundamentally sound game since his USC days was able to spread the field, scan and read the defense, and throw three TD’s.

Special Teams is also an area that is very impressive this season for the Bengals. They are flying down the field on kickoff's and Shayne Graham who is the most underrated and unappreciated kickers continues to be CLUTCH.

Next Sunday the Bengals will travel down to the Lonestar State to face another young Quarterback in David Carr who really hasn’t had opportunity to prove that he is one of the strong up and coming Quarterbacks in the NFL.

Outcome

I see the Bengals who really have that “IT FACTOR,” taking another win and heading into Jacksonville on October 9th, in two weeks being 4 and 0. Although this is likely that they head into Jacksonville undefeated, there is a good chance that it may end there if Byron Leftwich and Jimmy Smith can control this Bengal defense.

Side Note

Bengals defeated Bears 24 - 7.

Bengals are 3-0 for the first time since 1990.
