The Game That's Played
For years now candidates have become more aloof and distant from the harsh realities of the everyday American. With every sound bite or their endless speeches all convey that they alone have the cure-all for solving today's problems. For most politicians today especially the ones that have mega millions to them it's all a game leaving millions of Americans with little or no choice about their own future. The attitudes and individual responses that they have displayed show no signs of actual humility, compassion, or benevolence toward the millions of Americans who have become and are still so impoverished.
Our political process today most candidates play the game for the more affluent, the more well off, the top 5% and of course the main stream media. The poor, the destitute, the hungry and all the rest of Americans are the losers of this game that is played within each election cycle. The major media affiliates constantly hype up certain candidates that they themselves openly endorse. The fortunes of any other would be challenger has no chance the way the rules of this game have been set up. Out played by the millions of dollars which are lavished upon favorite sons, out weighed by the hefty amount of media exposure given to those same favorite sons, and out gunned by the more affluent corporate and political leaders who will benefit the most by the favors given by those favorite sons, once this game is over. While the game is being played the rest of the world with so much blight and woe millions continue on with their daily struggle to survive. As with any game there are winners, but in this game it is the looser's who will continue to pay the price by how this game was played.
Through-out the history of the United States in each election cycle the rules of the game have constantly changed. It is within the past 50 years that the rules for this game continually are rearranged and fixed for individuals whose wealth, and connections to wealth dictate who is allowed to play. The way the rules have been made that only allow certain individuals to partake in the political process has only widened the disparity gap of people everywhere. Where today the top 5% of the population rule over the 95% of the population. This virtually eliminates the basis of equal representation. It's as though the very Constitution has been practically dismantled. The majority now have no real voice in legislation that is proposed, or passed. A continuation of the status-quo that has brought about so much distention it is no wonder where The Occupy Wall Street protest is only the beginning of unrest by the masses. All brought on by how the game is played.
Has the American public allowed the game to evolve to such a point where the perpetual cycle of the career politician is guaranteed? Has an apathetic attitude prevailed for so long by the American public in which solidified the way the rules of the game are played? A qualified yes to these questions has emerged where the population has been duped by the players themselves in seducing the American public that the rules of the game are in the majorities best interest.
Like in so many previous elections where the voter turnout is less than 21% nation wide not only says allot about how disenchanted the populace is with our elected officials but more disturbing it's a true indication of where our country has been headed for far to long. Most every major candidate continually shows how ineffective they really are when it is time to offer details on how to improve everyone's quality of life. The way the rules of the game have been so carefully rearranged it is the majority of the publics quality of life that continues to decline. In no period in our history has so many Americas fail to achieve the American Dream and so many millions of Americas saw their American Dream vanish right before their eyes.
Now it is time once again to play that game. With so much discord and distention still brewing even after the events of this past "Arab Spring" are constant reminders of what the Occupy Wall Street Protest is so vocal about. The game that is played in every election cycle has done nothing but continue to widen the income disparity gap. The top 5% are intrenched in "Millionaire Acers" while the rest of Americans have entered the "Poor House."
If the United States ever expects to remain a sovereign nation as it was intended by our Founding Fathers it is the citizens of the United States that must initiate change. To rewrite the rules of the game in leveling the playing field to ensure equal opportunity for equal representation. The greatness of America lies dormant the longer the rules of the game remain. Only when "We the people" realize how we have been duped into believing our greatness lies with how the game is now being played can the rules and fortunes of all Americans change.
