Gibsons Bed and Breakfast Just Off The Beaten Path

For those seeking a weekend getaway that´s a little out of the ordinary, the Sunshine Coast has a quaint holiday retreat that´s equal parts majestic, inspiring and off-center. A Warehouse Hide-a-way is not your standard Gibsons bed and breakfast. It´s a hidden gem. Perfectly designed for those who experience the wonders of the world with intrepid, starry-eyes.

Tucked just outside of Molly´s Reach is the beautiful 1940s heritage warehouse. The lofts, once used by the Beachcombers TV series, have been elegantly converted into two private, self-contained cottages.

The unique lofts are stylish yet minimalist. The design is tasteful and restrained. Outfitted with soft lighting, spacious 14-foot ceilings, hardwood floors and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, it´s a one-of-a-kind experience. The lofts are private and romantic. The beds are large and comfortable, designed to sleep the morning away. Guests are welcome to enjoy organic fair trade coffee and a delicious complimentary breakfast at the Landing when they wake.

Outside is a spacious, serene private garden. It´s a welcoming place to unwind and and drift into languid conversation on the back-to-back recliners.

Gibsons is a natural wonderland with an abundance of amenities. There is world-class hiking, kayaking and swimming, a thriving art scene as well as quaint restaurants and unforgettable ocean strolls.

A Warehouse Hide-A-Way is the brainchild of local artist Mary Jean Brown. A former, New York City interior designer, world traveller and painter, Mary Jean attracts an artistic, accomplished and eccentric clientelle. When visiting the cottages, her other labour of love, you can see her colourful and inspiring portrait paintings - some of them of her guests.

AWH is pet friendly (just ask Mary Jean about the rules). Maddy, her affectionate Golden Retriever is often the first to greet guests with a friendly welcome. The cottage is also kid friendly.

It´s easy to get to this Gibsons bed and breakfast. You can find A Warehouse Hide-a-way just two blocks away from Molly's reach. It´s next to a bus stop and only five minutes to the mainland ferry.

Rates start at $148 a night. For more information, contact Mary Jean Brown at mjb@dccnet.com.
