HCG Diet Review

Janice Bellamy
You won´t see me promoting quick fixes or fad diets anytime soon. But every once in awhile something comes along that seems too good to be true I have to call it out. That´s why I´m going to help reveal the truth behind the HCG diet.

What it is: HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone produced during pregnancy by the cells that form the placenta. This hormone is detected in the blood around 11 days after conception; it is detected in the urine around 12-14 days after conception. While it is most commonly associated with pregnancy, it is present in both genders.

There are many things not approved by the FDA simply because they are in bed with the pharmaceutical companies to make money. My physician actually did the hCG diet herself and therefore recommended it for me. I have gained weight due to illness and medications and have been unable to lose it, despite adhering strictly to many of the plans mentioned and working out. In my first week on the diet, I've lost 16 pounds and 5 inches in my waist. I am encouraged for the first time. I would not be able to eat 500 calories a day and not be hungry without hCG. My doctor is monitoring me closely for side effects and I would stop if I encountered any, but this is the first success I have had while on medications.

Everyone's body chemistry is different. It's why some medications work for some people and don't for others. It's why some people like some foods and others don't. It's why some people think roses smell sweet and others don't. We are all different. If you are so concerned about these things, ban commercials for products like Hydroxycut, which are pure BS. HCG has made a lasting difference for many people, and has scientific research done by a physician 50 years ago.

And no, I don't eat Krispy Kremes, and I don't drink sodas, or smoke, or lay around all day. There is something wrong with my body. I have worked for the last 15 years to find something to fix it. This may the thing that fixes it. At least I am trying something. And it's not easy, either. It's not a quick fix. It will take me well over a year, if I do it right, to reset my metabolism and lose the weight in the correct time frame.

BTW, I tried your Full Bars... didn't help me. For me, it's not a question of self-control or willpower. I don't overeat. My metabolism is faulty. I worked with a trainer and a nutritionist for 3 months. I worked out 6 days a week, followed a 900 calorie/1200 calorie per day (alternating week) diet and lost no weight. If you can give me an answer to that, then I will give you more credence to your claims that hCG is not a valid weight loss tool.
