Painting Depicts Jesus As Muscular And Tattooed

"A Kentucky artist (Stephen Sawyer) is taking a page from Rembrandt's book by giving a makeover to the image of Jesus Christ, this time by adding muscles and tattoos."

I don't think Jesus worked out at the Bethlehem Buff Body Club, but like most carpenters he probably had a muscular physique.

Most paintings depict Jesus as a frail fellow, but the real Jesus was a man's man who commanded the respect of the fishermen and other rough characters who were his disciples.

I'm OK with the muscular Jesus, but he was a humble man who would never call attention to himself by tattooing his body.

Jesus may have had a powerful body, but he didn't intimidate people by his physical appearance. It was his powerful words and his remarkable deeds that impressed everyone.
