Nancy Pelosi Is Cleaning [Out] The House

In the more than half century I’ve been observing politics I’ve never seen a Speaker of the House as deceitful as Nancy Pelosi. She campaigned on a promise she would clean up the house not clean out the house. The earmarks added to the supplemental bill providing funds for the troop is unconscionable it isn’t the military that should be paying for political disagreements. We were told by Nancy Pelosi Congress would cooperate with the Whitehouse, does cooperation mean surrender to the Speaker?
Its obvious Nancy Pelosi is establishing a power base prior to the arrival of Hillary Clinton / Barack Obama or both to the Whitehouse in January 2009 should either or both become president and vice president. Nancy Pelosi has deluded herself into believing Congress [i.e.] the Speaker of the House is in the cat-bird seat of all decision making process in government. That’s not what the constitution says and it wasn’t what Andrew Jackson said and I quote,….“It was settled by the Constitution, the laws, and the whole practice of the government that the entire executive power is vested in the President of the United States.” His words not mine, and Nancy Pelosi knows that I’m sure.
We must ask how Nancy Pelosi has the chutzpah to travel to countries our state department may be covertly manipulating into some sort of a dialog to end the carnage, not only in the Middle East but around the world. Prior to Speaker Pelosi’s ill-spoken words supposedly told to her by the Israeli Prime Minister one of the London Tabloids reported based on what Nancy Pelosi was about to announce in Damascus “Israel would go anywhere any time to meet with the entire Arab leadership, both terrorist and their sympathizers in the name of peace.” This was apparently a leak to a British Tabloid though it didn’t come from Pelosi herself it supposedly came from her camp.
To equate Speaker Pelosi’s actions to the corporate world, middle management doesn’t take it upon themselves to go to the competition and negotiate deals unless sent. To Baseball the third base coach doesn’t go the world’s best slugger and offer him a deal unless sent. Nancy Pelosi wasn’t sent to Israel, Syria, Saudi Arabia and she certainly isn’t going to be sent to Iran. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in way over her head in assuming she understands international diplomacy, the consequences could be catastrophic
Nancy Pelosi knows the House has no grounds for an impeachment of President Bush. If lying were sufficient cause to remove politicians from office Washington D.C. would be a ghost-town. It’s obvious what Speaker Pelosi intends is to usurp the president authority and make it appear he’s incapable of leading the nation, a ploy that may well backfire on Democrats. Most of the things the Democratic Congress has accusing President Bush of mishandling in reality are things the congress should have been taking care of and didn’t avoiding their responsibility. They were supported by a lazy unqualified Media who seems to always take the sound bite over the facts.
In the old days reporting required shoe leather, today all that’s needed is an iPod and an imagination.
I often wonder what path the war on terror would have taken if men like Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman or Ronald Reagan had been president when the World Trade Centers were destroyed, men not willing to turn the other cheek? I suspect there would have been less discussion and more action than this president has been able to muster. It’s not that Bush hasn’t tried to do his best in the fight on terror it’s simply he’s been manipulated by both the right and the left for the sake of politics the public interest be dammed.
It’s becoming obvious Republicans were ill-equipped mentally to take charge of congress in 1994. They allowed Tom Delay to unseat Newt Gringrich that turned out to be a costly mistake on their part. Sending a horse thief to catch a cattle rustler doesn’t make much sense, [It’s a metaphor I’m not making any accusations.]
How badly will Nancy Pelosi upset the apple cart, what will the cost be? Will George Bush use his power of the pen to veto an out of control congress? It’s time for George Bush to come before the American People and let them know what’s going on and not leave it to Democrats and the Media to spin away the harm to be done. The world is at war with an enemy such as we have never seen before. It’s time we all joined in the battle on terror not divide the battlefields.
