Aging out: Aspiranet THP program supports former foster children in Orange County
Aspiranet, one of the state´s largest providers of Transitional Housing Programs (THP), knows that transitional care is critical to ensuring success for youth as they "age out" of foster care. Beginning July 1, Aspiranet will take over administration of the Orange County THP Plus program which offers a stable living environment for up to fifteen former foster children, ages 18 – 24.
THP Plus partners with local businesses and agencies to provide housing opportunities, job placement, educational enrollment and youth support services with the goal of creating independent, productive citizens who will successfully transition into adulthood. To qualify, youth must be actively pursuing goals with regards to education, vocational training or employment and be referred by Orange County´s Independent Living Program Coordinator.
Aspiranet also offers foster care, adoption and pro-family services in Orange County. To become a partner in the lives of young teens or to make a donation to the program, contact Aspiranet Orange County at (714) 712-4900.
