101 Ways To Leave A Game Show or 101 Ways To Catch Your Death
So while flipping through the channels for something to pass the time last Tuesday night, a certain reality/game show caught my attention. The reason it caught my attention was not because it was just another reality/game show.
What it was is the way this particular show titled: 101 Ways To Leave A Game Show goes about eliminating its contestants.
Because in 101 Ways To Leave A Game Show, the eliminated contestant does not quietly pack his/her bags and make an exit. Instead, he/she is sent free falling down a scaffold, or dragged away (literally) while attached to a red carpet or seen ramming into objects that do not hurt the contestant while strapped on to a pole of some sort and other dangerous manouvres.
Now, I do not usually go out of my way to tune in to a reality or game show, but in light of what I was being exposed to, I did ponder a few questions.
Questions such as: Are some of us starving for attention that we are willing to enter a game show which incorporates perilous ways when it comes to the contestant elimination process?
Or do some of us want to be seen on television so badly that we are willing to let other people see how close we can come to having a sudden rise in blood pressure or heart rate type of reaction by free falling down a scaffold or be seen dragged away on a piece of red carpet?
Maybe some reality/game shows have gone a bit far, and for a show that originated in the UK maybe the new title should be 101 Ways To Leave A Game Show or 101 Ways To Catch Your Death.
If you have not seen this show, you can catch it on the ABC network on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM Central.
